Clock Opera - Artist InformationClock Opera

Clock Opera
The signature Clock Opera sound is spliced together from homemade samples and blunt instruments found in skips. Guy Connelly bends them to his will, reanimating them into a sonic orchestra to support his ethereal pop compositions that have been sending ripples through numerous blogs and press including The Guardian, NME, Clash Magazine, Dummy Magazine and Dazed & Confused.

After their debut AA single ‘White Noise/Alouette’ (Nov ’09) on the ever-consistent Puregroove Records and limited electric live shows with Marina & The Diamonds, Your Twenties and Django Django, Clock Opera ignited the 2010 Ones To Watch lists across the blogosphere as well as The Times, The Fly and Levi’s® OnesToWatch®.

Couple these late 2009 accolades with appearances at HMV’s ‘Next Big Thing’, an acclaimed whistle-stop UK tour supporting Marina & The Diamonds (Feb ’10) and live reviewer scribblings making comparisons like ‘sounding something like an Animal Collective remix of 'Kid A'-era Radiohead with a pinch of Yeasayer-style freak-pop’ (The Fly – Feb ’10), Clock Opera are continuing to build their profile as a truly unique and elaborate artist to watch.

Connelly is one of those people who never stop. As well as remixing the likes of Bloc Party and Peter, Bjorn & John, 2010 will see Clock Opera versions of Phenomenal Handclap Band’s ‘Baby’ out on Gomma Recordings, Yes Giantess ‘The Ruins’ released on Neon Gold, and if the ever reliable rumour machine Twitter is right, a remix like no other of Marina & The Diamond’s ‘I Am Not A Robot’ which will be released in May ’10 on 679/Atlantic.
