ANNOUNCING THE INITIAL DAYTIME PROGRAMME LINE UP

After selling out early bird weekend tickets in conjunction with our launch album and live gig which earned more than £4,000 for charity partner War Child in time for the winter holidays, we are pleased to reveal the first stage of its line up announcements for 2010.

Marking our move to the first May bank holiday in the new year, we are continuing to develop the breadth of the daytime programme of cutting edge arts and music to warm up the Saturday and Sunday Spring afternoons leading up to some legendary rock & roll evenings. Featuring a live and interactive line up of comedy, spoken word, improv theatre, visual art installations, crafts, magic, games & quizzes, fantasy football, karaoke and, of course, live music, the daytime carnival of fringe entertainment sprawls across more than twenty Camden Town venues for the weekend.

The Crawl daytime schedule of events programme kicks off from midday on both Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May and runs until 6:00 pm when the evening live music Crawl extravaganza embarks. Upon arrival at the festival each ticket holder will be presented with an all-access wristband, programme guide, timetable and free download album to help plot his/her day’s adventure. ‘Crawlers’ will be granted unlimited access to all official daytime and evening venues and parties capacity permitting.

The evening line-ups are selected by a committee of music industry tastemakers, including radio DJs, club promoters, journalists and record labels and will begin being announced in late January.
Weekend tickets for the Gaymers Camden Crawl 2010 are on sale now. For each of these tickets purchased, the Crawl will donate £2.00 to War Child (registered charity no: 1071659).

Gaymers Camden Crawl Wins At The UK Festival Awards

Gaymers Camden Crawl won the honour of ‘Best Metropolitan Festival’ at the sixth annual UK Festival Awards which took place on 19th November. Held at the O2 centre, the Crawl kept good company with other key awards going to the likes Glastonbury (Best Major Festival), Bestival (Best Medium Festival) and Sonisphere (Best New Festival).

A huge thank you to all of our friends who voted for us to win and loyal supporters who attend the event each year.

CRAWL VENUE HOSTS & BOOKING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCED!

Each year the Gaymers Camden Crawl evening line up is selected by an esteemed panel of music industry tastemakers comprised of radio DJs, club promoters, journalists, record companies and musicians representing a broad spectrum of genres.

Bringing their specialist expertise to the virtual table, an extensive nomination and voting process ensues, resulting in superb line up of the best emerging talent an array of styles from folk to pop, hip hop to indie, electro to rock/metal and more.

Acting together as live music curators for the event, each committee member additionally will host a venue at next year’s festival scheduled to take plays Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May Bank Holiday.

The artist selection process is currently in full stream for 2010 and initial line ups will be announced in January. Additionally, we are nearing the completion of the festival’s daytime programme. This will include 20 venues chock full of the best in new comedy, spoken word, visual art, theatre as well as quizzes, karaoke, bingo and of course live music and other surprises.

GAYMERS CAMDEN CRAWL LAUNCH GIG WITH WAR CHILD!

Next years Gaymers Camden Crawl kicked off last night with a fantastic fundraising event in aid of War Child.

Held at the all new Blues Kitchen venue in Camden Town, the Gaymers was flowing to the sounds of super special acts and DJ performances throughout the night.

The live acts included amazing live sets from Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, MPHO, The Holloways, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Man Like Me, Bleech, New Rhodes, Beans on Toast and Invasion.

The night was a huge success with the help of generous donations and a huge amount was raised for a very worthy cause.

A massive thanks to everyone who turned up at the Blues Kitchen last night - all the acts were fantastic and the crowd was great too!

GAYMERS CAMDEN CRAWL & WARCHILD LAUNCH GIG

The Gaymers Camden Crawl, scheduled for Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May, is pleased to announce it’s partnership for 2010 with Camden based International charity, War Child. To celebrate, the festival will be hosting a very special launch gig on Wednesday 4th November at brand new Camden Town venue, The Blues Kitchen.

The fundraising event, will include live performances from a variety of Camden rooted artists who have performed in previous years at the Crawl, including Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, The Holloways, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Bleech, Man Like Me, MPHO, New Rhodes, Beans on Toast and surprise special guests. DJ sets will come from Lewis Rainsbury, Sean McLusky (1234) and Ed (ex-The Darkness).

Doors open at 6:00 pm and entrance will be £8.00 on the door which will be donated in full to War Child (registered charity no: 1071659). However, for Gaymers Camden Crawl ticket holders with proof of purchase, entry will be free on a first come first served basis until 7:00 pm.

Early bird tickets for the Gaymers Camden Crawl 2010 will go on sale at 9:00 am on Thursday 29th October. The first 1,000 persons to purchase tickets, will receive a limited edition War Child and Gaymers Camden Crawl Christmas card featuring a FREE compilation album, titled ‘Camden Heroes’, featuring tracks from Beans On Toast -Bleech -Emmy The Great -Graham Coxon -The Holloways -The King Blues -Kitty, Daisy & Lewis - Madness - Man Like Me - New Rhodes - Ou Est Le Swimming Pool. For each of these tickets purchased, the Crawl will donate £2.00 to War Child.

The line up of the launch gig will be announced through the media, festival ticket holders and fan databases from Monday 26th October. Secret guests will not be announced until day of the event via the Crawl’s Twitter feed http://www.twitter.com/thecamdencrawl.
