“DTR know how to construct an infectious semi-acoustic ditty. Their songs…have a sort of late-19th century American frontier ambience, with references to medicine men and intimations of creeping danger, but that doesn’t stop them lodging in your skull”

The Guardian

Formed in London in early 2009, Dry The River includes members Peter Liddle (guitar, tenor horn, lead vocals), Matthew Taylor (guitar, keys, vocals), Scott Miller (bass, percussion, vocals) and Jon Warren (drums, percussion). They played their first headline show in April the following year and quickly found themselves signed to the Transgressive publishing imprint and releasing their single, “New Ceremony”, for the label. Their early releases and great live reputation won them loads of UK radio support, a record deal with RCA and a run of high profile festival appearances including Glastonbury, iTunes, Latitude, Green Man, Bestival and Reading & Leeds amongst others. By the end of the year they had made the long list for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll. ‘Shallow Bed’, the band’s debut album was released in March 2012 and continued to earn them critical acclaim and new fans. Their follow up is due this year.
