“‘Siamese Lover’ has a somewhat anthemic feel to it, the kind of track you could imagine hearing at a festival with a crowd full of people singing along…A strong all round alt-pop track that you could play on repeat for hours without getting bored”

If you like your music with an epic overview and a melancholic undercurrent then Longfellow could well be the New Favourite Band you’ve been waiting for. Five heartbreakers-in-waiting they consist of Owen Lloyd (vocals), Tom Warhurst (drums), James Thomas (electric guitar), Isaac Shiman (bass) and Ali Hetherington (piano / synth). They lurk in South London and create a modest, authentic and soulful mixture of indie and pop, bolstered by fearless melodies and large choruses. Championed last year by the Unsigned Band Review’s Emerging Icons project, Longfellow went on to play at the London 2012 Olympics and have supported the likes of Example, Feeder and To Kill A King. In the summer of 2013 they released their debut single, with the finely overwrought ‘Gabrielle’ seeing the blight of day on July 29th. The song hoovered up complimentary comparisons to Radiohead and the video featured singer Owen staggering around London in a hospital gown and singing in an operating theatre. The second single, ‘Siamese Lover’, was released on Label Fandango / Fierce Panda earlier this year.
