“This is the album that the maniac in the monster truck is playing as he tries to mow you down in a 70’s drive-in movie”

Toby Mearing

Henry Blacker are a three-piece from Somerset featuring two members of the fabulous Hey Colossus. Their debut album on Riot Season, ‘Hungry Dogs Will Eat Dirty Puddings’ is the product of a no frills period of writing in a barn in the West Country and recording for a two-day stint in a London basement. Heavy with a swing, twisty guitar, shitty bass and a Part Chimp at the controls, the band distil unrelenting boogie mantras into hissing slabs of desert rock. And, bonus, the opening track from the album, ‘Crab House’, is about being completely and totally devoured by crabs.
