“sounds like Ravi Shankar, Neu! and The Velvet Underground doing a big nudie dance round the maypole in The Wicker Man”
The Fly
Parlour started with Angela Won-Yin Mak (guitar, vocals) quietly obsessing over psych repetition, hymn melodies, pop harmonies, tape hiss and white noise. After lending vocals to Warm Brains’ track ‘Zaragoza’, she struck up a collaboration with musician and producer Rory Attwell (Warm Brains, Kasms, Test Icicles), who initially played drums and has since switched to guitar in the band. Since their first release, ‘My Love’ (via Marshall Teller Records) they have expanded to a 5-piece live band with Danny Blackman (bass), Kier Wiater Carnihan (drums) and Florence van Camerijk (keys, vocals). They are currently finishing up an EP, recorded and produced by Attwell.
