“Let us get to the heart of the matter straight away: Katie Kim’s shoegazing extravaganza Cover And Flood is very, very good”
Hot Press
Katie Kim is the pseudonym of the unique Dublin-based songwriter/performer Katie Sullivan. Her ethereal, ambient folk/pop combines de-tuned guitars, sparse piano, walls of loops and echoing vocals to produce hauntingly beautiful songs executed with subtle simplicity. Katie’s vocal style is so unique entirely of her own making that it is difficult to liken her to anyone else. She has released two studio albums to date, ‘Twelve’ in 2008 and ‘Cover & Flood’ in 2012 (UK release 2013). Katie also collaborates with other artists, inluding Ed Harcourt, David Kitt and The Waterboys, who she appeared with on “Later…With Jools Holland” in 2011. A third album is due later this year.
