“Last year’s self-titled debut from Moon Ate the Dark enchanted our readers, who made it our most popular review of 2012”
A Closer Listen
Driven together by a shared love of film music and a mutual interest in repetition, Anna Rose Carter and Christopher Brett Bailey have been feeding pianos into guitar amplifiers since 2009. In 2012 they emerged as Moon At The Dark with last year’s self-titled debut and two track follow up ‘Molt and Grow’, both beautifully dipped collections of luscious sound-writing dipped in a pool of piano and electronics. Their latest offering ‘Verse Porous Verse’ begins with an electronic hum, but wastes no time getting stuck into to the ivories and then all too soon, it’s over leaving us wanting for more.
