“The soundtrack to the kind of party you wouldn’t want your mum to know about”

Spit Shake Sisters are three piece garage psych outfit from Southeast of England comprised of Harrison Davies, Zal Jones, Benjamin Varnes and Steven Voges. Influenced by the likes of Ty Segall, The Stooges, White Denim and late 60s Psych and Trash, these guys see rock ’n ’roll with a strange gaze, fusing heavy fuzz and 60s trash with peculiar rhythms that have been leaving audiences both amazed and bewildered. This has certainly been the case with their recent live shows, in their spiritual home of Brighton, which have proved to be sweaty but well attended affairs. With a painfully accurate social commentary that floats over the backdrop of noise, this could be the sound that stirs our generation into guitar-band frenzy. ‘Overdope/Modern Drugs Make Aliens’, released late last year, is their interim single while they prepare new material due for release in 2014.
