Recently relocated to Berlin from her hometown Ann Arbor, Michigan, Laurel Halo is a classically trained musician turned producer. Her work reveals influences from the music of her home state and the physical process and impact of time are reoccurring motifs. Her debut album ‘Quarantine’ was released on London-based label Hyperdub in June 2012 and received widespread critical praise. It was also named the No. 1 Album Of The Year by The Wire magazine. In a live context Halo’s music is centred around hybrid rhythms, bass and psychedelic push. Her second album ‘Chance Of Rain’ was release in late autumn of last year.
