Ian Camfield’s dreams of pursuing a radio career began at the age of eight when, after writing in for a request, he was invited to the BBC Radio 1 studio to watch legendary Tommy Vance present The Friday Rock Show. Vance had never known of someone so young with such an appreciation for Heavy Metal. From that point Ian decided a radio career was the way forward. Ian’s big break came at XFM, the UK’s first alternative music station, where he became the authority for all things Rock in the UK, leading to presenting roles on VH-1 and MTV2, various appearances on music documentaries and multitudes of voiceovers. Ian has also hosted The Download Festival at Donington, The Wireless Festival in Hyde Park and The Metal Hammer Awards for several years. After a wonderful sorjourn to the US where Ian was on for CBS Radio as K-Rock’s Afternoon Drive show presenter he’s now back on these shores fronting Breakfast on XFM and the XFM Rock show on Saturday nights across the network.
