Matthew & Me are based in Totnes, Devon and met whist studying music at Dartington College of Arts. Their blend of atmospheric and haunting arrangements with big, unabashed choruses have been described as “like an ethereal Prefab Sprout or Wild Beasts mating with Belle & Sebastian round Robin Guthrie’s place”. After just a handful of shows Matthew & Me are building strong foundations and a dedicated fan base throughout the Southwest. They recently released a limited edition E.P. on their own label, through Drift Records, which immediately sold out. As well as appearing at regular venues, including the “Communion” label’s club night, the group have been promoting their own bespoke events in eclectic venues around the southwest, most recently a sell-out performance in a huge Elizabethan glass greenhouse. The band are currently continuing to record at Sawmills Studio, set on a serene estuary in Cornwall, with producers Tom Joyce and the legendary John Cornfield. Their début album is due to be released later this year.
