The Author combine the influences of The Kinks, Interpol, Joy Division and the isolation of living in Jersey to create a sound unlike any other at the moment. Their third single, ‘Household Appliance’ continues in the tradition of the band’s radio-friendly theme, gently bristling as it is with sly hooks, deadpan double-edged vocals and delicate synths.
