The Chapman Family are an alternative indie-rock band from the north east of England who merge intensity with chaos encouraging comparisons with Joy Division and Sonic Youth. They aim to provide a distortion fuelled antidote in a musical climate big on apathy and lacking in integrity. They are dark and noisy and according to the NME in the UK make “music to change your life, if you’re that way inclined.” 2009 saw them open the NME Radar National Tour, release two critically acclaimed singles, get their first magazine cover, and tour the UK and Europe calling in at major festivals such as Pukklepop and Reading along the way. 2010 will see them release their long awaited debut album and build on their reputation of being one of the best live bands in the UK.
