THE Q&A CRAWL: ADMIRAL FALLOW | News | The Camden Crawl 2012

How many beautiful folk pop melodies exist still to be discovered in fair Scotland? Following Belle & Sebastian, Butcher Boy or Stornoway, you might think they’re now in short supply. Not if you’re Admiral Fallow, though: Louis Abbott’s outfit mix careful lyrics with yearning tunes and lush arrangements to arrive at something just a little bit lovely. They popped by to charm us

What is your first memory or experience of Camden Town?

It was almost the first place I visited on my first trip to London (after a necessary trip to the Excel centre which scared the shit out of me). I bought an incredible shirt which I have since lost and ate some tremendous Mexican food. We also played in Koko once.

In what one other city would you put on a festival like the Camden Crawl and why?

Nice, France. I went there years ago and the weather was glorious but the live music scene was, at best, pish.

If the band were to appear live on any US television series, which would it be?

24. It would be inexplicable. Jack Bauer rips in with a powerful soprano sax solo. What one instrument that isn’t part of your line-up do you secretly wish was? Soprano Sax

Describe your sound in 10 words or less:

Twelve-legged-Glasgow-based-orchestral-indie-pop

What is the most interesting event the band has planned for 2012?

We’re set to play our biggest ever headline show at Glasgow’s famous Barrowland Ballroom in December. She’s the holy grail for any Scottish band I reckon and we’re very excited and honoured to have the chance to take her on.

Tipple of choice?

It really depends on the night. Generally a pint of Guinness for Kev and Joe. Sarah will have a G & T or a cherry lambrini. Stu, some sort of Cider or a small Baileys. Phil is a wine man as long as it’s black. And i’ve recently discovered the delights of Rum and cola with some fresh lime. You buying like?

Anything specific you want to plug?
